When building Casa Laureles in 2012 we made the conscious decision to not live directly on the beach but rather at a slight elevation, about 10 minutes away from the ocean, in order to escape the salty environment.

We wanted to avoid the corrosive ocean air because we imported a lot of things from Switzerland. 40 solar panels (mounted on the roof) which produce 12’000 KW every year covering all our electrical needs as well as eight batteries, intended as back-up should we lose power, providing independence from the grid for up to three days.

The mattresses in the guest rooms are of high Swiss quality as are all the bathroom fixtures, including the wall mounted toilet (great for easy cleaning).

The Jungle Lodge had already been built when we purchased the property. We added a big, covered patio from where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The lodge has a double bed (140×200 cm) and bunk beds, is equipped with a kitchenette and comes with a covered parking space.
